The West Africa Automotive Show (WAAS, https://westafricaautomotive.com/), Africa’s largest trade event for auto parts and aftermarket vehicle services, will open on Tuesday 13th May.

Now in its fifth edition, the award-winning* international expo will be the biggest and best yet: more than 300 exhibitors from around the globe and more than 5,000 visitors are expected to attend over the three days at the Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Combining a vast exhibition and a policy-shaping conference, the event will help boost the vehicle parts and sales market in Nigeria which has an estimated annual revenue of ₦770 billion to ₦1.4 trillion (US$500 million to US$900 million).**[CG1]  Products being highlighted include spare parts, European parts, Asian parts, oils and lubricants, finished vehicles, accessories, tyres, wheels and many others. https://www.alcircle.com/news/nigeria-s-auto-spare-parts-industry-a-sleeping-giant-ready-to-awaken-111717  [CG1]15 AUGUST 2024AL CIRCLE Nigeria's auto spare parts industry: A sleeping giant ready to awaken EDITED BY : RUPANKAR MAJUMDER4MINS READ   Nigeria stands at a pivotal crossroads. The nation's auto spare parts sector, with an estimated annual revenue ranging from $500 million to $900 million, possesses the latent power to become a cornerstone of economic growth.

A key attraction at the West Africa Automotive Show is the range of country pavilions. This year China, India, Turkey and Poland will be showcasing their manufacturers and suppliers, but more than 50 countries in total will be represented. Another consistently popular part of the show is the special focus on the spare parts industry of Nigeria and neighbouring countries.

The West Africa Automotive Show is organised by BtoB Events, the name behind several of the largest trade expos in Africa. Georgina Lloyd, Group Exhibition Manager, says that since launching the show in 2019, WAAS has become the must attend event for anyone working in the automotive sector, whether it is those manufacturing, distributing or supplying parts or the mechanics, engineers and retailers involved in vehicle maintenance and repair.

“We are delighted that the popularity and success of the West Africa Automotive Show has been recognised with the Show being awarded the ‘Best Automotive Show in Africa 2024’ at the Nigeria Automotive Industry Awards,” says Miss Lloyd. “Last year’s show was record-breaking, this year’s event will surpass that.

“We are also delighted that the Conference, organised and chaired by Luqman Mamudu, former Director at the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) and Principal Partner/CEO at Transtech, has become such an important forum to discuss and shape the development of the automotive industry in Nigeria and West Africa.

“The stimulating content of the Conference programme attracts a wide range of senior policy makers and means we have expanded the Conference to run alongside the full three days of the Exhibition.

“In addition, demonstrations, workshops, seminars and the hands-on opportunities taking place on the exhibition floor add to the WAAS value for visitors. The West Africa Automotive Show offers the finest opportunities for all participants to meet and network, to find out what the latest developments and trends are, and to establish new business relationships or build on existing ones.”

While exhibition space is selling out, companies interested in booking a stand or looking for sponsorship opportunities should contact Miss Lloyd on [email protected] or +44 2476 158101 to discuss availability and options.
